About me
I'm a writer, hoping to get published. I write poetry (here's my blog where you can read my poems: www.flyingdreampoet.blogspot.com ) and fiction novels. As of this date (April 2011) I have written two novels, both sci-fi, and I am now working on the first draft of a third novel, which I think is going to be the first in a series, and it is not so much sci-fi as it is a weird-ass mix of several genres including drama, thriller and sci-fi and possibly comedy. My family has an internet business - a website that sells women's clothes: www.modestclothingdistributors.com
I am unemployed (except as a babysitter, so I get a job every few months or so) but I hope to get my books published and get rich. What will I do with the money I make? Well, my dream is to move to Hawaii. That's what I'm working towards right now.

The Great Escape review
Posted : 13 years, 7 months ago on 11 April 2011 04:01 (A review of The Great Escape)The Great Escape is funny and serious in good proportion. It has definitely aged well, being just as interesting, entertaining and relevant to modern audiences as it was the year it was released. I firmly believe that everyone should see this movie. Everyone.

Death Note review
Posted : 13 years, 7 months ago on 11 April 2011 03:55 (A review of Death Note)But even all these elements combined don't account for Death Note's magnitude of charm. Its whole is greater than the sum of its parts, great as that sum already was.
For a friend who just couldn't get into anime, I recommended Death Note. It's impossible not to get sucked in by the masterful writing, airtight characterization, and that indefinable something extra: that magic spell Death Note casts on its viewers.

"thanks for the suggestions, Arthur! I had never heard of either of them."
"The Log Lady was recently in an episode of Psych that was a tribute to Twin Peaks. here's what she looks like: http://www.liveforfilms.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/psych-log-lady.jpg"
"Ooops, my bad. I found other pictures of Emma Roberts, with a better view of her eyes, and sure enough, they are hazel or green! I've removed her."
"Anton Chigurh is NOT ugly. Well, obviously he looks really weird in the picture you chose (I think he just got shot at this part, yes?) but come on, this is Javier Bardem we're talking about!"
"Pure genius. You worked really hard on this list and I say to you: Bravo!"
"Thanks for the suggestion, Lexie. As for Bieber, his hair looks blonde to me, but I guess in certain lights some people might call it brown."
"For your consideration: Maulik Pancholy for Aladdin. http://www.listal.com/viewimage/184039"
"I'm sorry but you can't have a list of great voices without including Stephen Fry. You just... can't. Otherwise, great list! I agree with all of them."
